Dear Jumblepudding,

While in general I agree with your sentiment, the visualization of one possible out come is hilarious.

That said, I think that the creation of bioengineered microbes should be carefully watched, it seems that a direct vector of these microbes would be from the actual use of the fuel and the exhaust release into the air.

Hopefully steps will be taken to ensure that the kind of e.coli that sits harmlessly in the human gut doesn’t get replaced by the kind that squirts biofuel.
