Of course, we've were terrible at preventing famine before GCC was even on the radar. That being said, now that even Shrub has admitted the reality, there is lots of reason for hope. The rest of the world is ahead of us, but the US will soon be in the forefront, because reality-based politics have returned to DC! yay This is a very tragic situation, not just the warming, but also the denial.
