A lot, most of, our "discoveries" have been based in silicon. Computers have helped. Sure, there's been a lot of improvements in the last 10 years. But in the last 20 years, we are still using DRAM, CPU's, GPU's, and hard drives. We're still programming in archaic computing languages. We need a game changer much like what silicon has done.
