Patrick, this from the BBC website: “The same team is developing another, more advanced robot scientist called Eve, which is designed to screen new drugs.” One step closer to working for Duracell eh buddy?

I’ve been worried about (among other things) the Robotcalypse for some time. Should we just sit back and accept our fate? Or try and nip the killer robots in the bud? At least it gives us something to blog about…

I think this is great. Once we bootstrap this into hypothesizing and testing out new software to run itself better… mmm, yeah.

2)Name ADAM and EVE’s progeny HAL.

3)Ensure that all subsequent robots are invulnerable to human corruption.

4)Sit back and wait for the race of machines to cull out the useless humans.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’d be pissed off if after I finish my P.h.D. in Marine Biology I found out that there are no jobs available for marine researchers because they’ve been taken by robots. Remind me why I spent nine years studying and paying for my tuition…
