If 41 dead eagles were found, for sure more most have died... All cannot/will not be found. Any study on that?

The Fish and Wildlife Service killed 41 bald eagles, 186 glaucous-winged gulls and I'm sure a lot of other stuff besides maybe the rats - all on one island, at a cost of millions of dollars to save birds?

Something definitely stinks about that one. It is simply wrong.

Someone is lining their pockets.

Why this particular island? and why not do it without killing birds, if the birds truly need to be saved?

does no one do real journalism anymore?

They are cautiously optimistic, but the island it big... that's the point, I'm not so optimistic that they have eradicated the rodents.

Makes me recall the trial by the Aussies to determine how long it would take to kill rats on a deserted island. They equipped it with a tracking device and months later it was still alive and then nothing; they discovered the tracking device and discovered also a rat swimming to the next closest island.
What are the chances they eliminated the rat population......nil.
