		<description>It may deter bats , but it might attract mayflies (where and when mayflies live).  My dad was testing a small military ship on the Great Lakes during WWII, and they had a secret device on board.  The one night the testers were testing the secret device and someone noticed there was a cone emanating from the dish of the device--it was the mayflies.  Maybe they were attracted to the heat.</description>
