In the past four Solar Challenge races, the Nuon Solar Team from the Netherlands has sped past the competition to take the top prize. But this year the team's dominance has been seriously challenged.

Many of the cars in this year's race have a similar design to the Nuon team's car, the Nuna V. With its aerodynamic profile, it resembles a sleek solar panel on wheels.
