I have read/heard that (that we should not hold back on resource extraction) from Rush, Glen Beck and Anne Colter....using examples of Mt Pinotubo, etc, as major sources of pollution. So, it was just a stated fact, and those people are right wing. But I do agree that egos and ignorance delay both sides from finding decent and quick solutions to many of our problems.

Tommy, then just take the politics out of what he said. He left you an out. You are way more politically decisive and seem hung up on politics. Maybe take your own advice?

Scott,

Why bring politics into this!?!?!? That's one of the big problems of addressing environment issues; people want to take sides to address these issues and both sides say the same old tired things about each other and the environment and while the finger pointing and name calling go on; NOTHING GETS DONE FROM EITHER SIDE!!! Leaving people like me to say do something, anything will get the ball rolling and it shouldn't be an idea of who should or why; JUST DO IT!!!!! Right wing and left wing people always want to deal with things in the extreme with absolutely no consideration of the consequences, and they are the problem of why humans can't manage their side of environmental responsibilities!!!!!

We should still do a better job at keeping our half out of the equation. I keep hearing arguements (mostly from right wing supporters) about volcanoes and natural oil leaks as a green light for us to keep belching out our own soots...since nature does it, why can't we...I think it's ignorant and short sighted.
