My husband worked as a shift worker up until 2 yrs ago. He has had back surgery and can no longer work. Had angiodema and was put on prednisone 50mg. which made him gain weight. He is probably about 120lbs.overweight. Doesn't sleep well at night, sleep walks. If there are sweets in the house he will find them. He tries dieting (works for maybe 4days) then bang he has to have his sweets. I dont' mean just a few I mean binging. He has high B/P. He is now getting tingling in his fingers/hands. His feet are scaly, has been getting alot of yeast infections. I have made an app't for blood work to be done for diabeties. He is on pain killers' for his back issues. He goes to bed at say 11:00pm. awake at 12:30pm. this goes on all night, then in the morning he can't wake. He sleeps' until about 3 in the afternoon. He is tired all the time, has no ambition, doesn't want to do anything, disassociates because of his weight. There is no longer any intimacy, weight gain hes' lost the desire. I am fearful that he has diabeties. With what info I have given you is it possible? Even if he drives within a 1hr period you can see his lids dropping, I end up taking over. He just can't stay awake whether it be at home or elsewhere. People look at him and ask me if hes' on drugs. No he isn't. I would really appreciate a quick response from you. My son and I are very worried about him. My son again asked me today "like, what is wrong with him"? I dont' have the answers. I have made an appt' for him to have blood work done. We are very concerned. His intake of sugar at times (more often than not) would make you sick to your stomach. Not him, he craves it. He doesn't overly drink beverages or water but more than usual. He is not a alcohol drinker but is a smoker for approx.35yrs. Pls. help. Thank you!!
