could the change be in the rock cod and not the clown fish? how do you know for sure?

This is just a theory, you cant prove it. You did test it with an experiment, but you cant know for sure wether the change was in the clown fish or the rock cod.

Does the study account for a gradual change in CO2 levels? Can the fish adapt if the levels change to match what is expected to occur in the ocean? What exactly is meant by “future expected levels”? This is a bit vague, can’t tell if they mean 10 years, 100 years, a thousand years, etc…

I didn’t read the study. Did the authors consider that the acidity may have caused an adaptive response in the rock cod stink to attract the clownfish?
