The only reason anyone pays attention to Lomborg is because what he says fits some people’s ideology, not because it’s true or because he’s competent.

It wasn’t obvious from the “going beyond the…bullet points” why Lonberg thinks more money should be spent on solutions. Is $100 billion some trade-off number? If it’s not a catastrophe, why invest 1 cent? Will $100 billion buy us more than $100 billion in benefits? Does he think $100 billion will find some inexpensive solution that does meet his criteria? Has he started to question the failure of his economic models to correctly calculate the economic benefits expressed by the present environment free of charge? I suggest that Lonberg is like all climate change deniers–he talks out of both sides of his mouth and is fooling himself with specious arguments.
