I don't need a dissecting microscope to identify small features in invertebrates and plants. I can also easily read the smallest print even in dim light, and I can remove slivers almost painlessly from little children and a squeamish sister. :) I've had the optometrist tell me I'm an ideal candidate for laser surgery--I don't even need to think twice to say "no thanks".
