I would like to know the duration of brain damage effects. If my son had a serious concussion at the age of two years, could this still affect his reasoning in his fifties- or could it instigate epilepsy later in life?
Any answers please.

I'll pass up the obvious opportunities for humor, satire, and sarcasm in this idea of a brain part specifically dedicated to judging the rightness of impending or already done action (as in rationalizing past harms to others).

This is certainly something that needs further research. A good place to start would be with the brains of violent or career criminals, and perhaps the brains of politicians (if you could ever get them to submit to such a study).

I have a feeling that there may be a connection to badly-considered actions and impulsive behaviour. Future work in the anterior prefrontal cortex and its effects on individual and collective human behaviour should have a high priority.

Government mind control? Are you serious? How does this article possibly relate to such silliness?

I think it's fantastic for us to increase our understanding of how our brain perceives and processes the world around us. Like the article says, a greater understanding of how we are self-aware benefits us on many levels.
