Many interpreters sign well, but they don't read ASL well. That's why they often interpret wrong what Deaf clients say. They have no problem interpreting what hearing people say. I didn't know for years, even though I noticed occassionally, so I not long ago decided to analyze more. Now, I can confirm that for myself. For example, they can't tell the difference between sign for clip-on sunglasses and eyedrop. These signs are big difference to us.

Would be interesting to see if interpreters for the Deaf or children of Deaf (CODA) had similar changes to their brain, even though they are still hearing they also use a lot of signed language.

At the top, under How a Deaf Brain Is Rewired to Boost Vision, it says
A brain is a terrible thing to waste.
I think it should read "It's a terrible thing to waste a brain."
