Of course, best of luck to her. What astounds me is that a close range bullet wound can be survived. Here in Taiwan a siilar event happened during a pre-election rally where a man ran on stage, shot a man in the face (entering cheek, exiting temple), and the man survived. He was pretty much fine.

I thank the people behind the knife, the research and the innovations that led to these people, and myriad others, surviving massive brain trauma.

I read in the paper that she is right-handed. Hoping she recovers and sympathy to families of those lost or injured.

Is Representative Gifford right handed or left handed? That will make a difference in the types of effects she experiences and in her recovery process.
