Openness is a good thing, it is the opposite of fear and there is too much of that already.
Some people go all the way to peru to meet their inner demons, with the liberty caps we can arrange for that in our own good place in our own good time.

I'm confused. "A recent study found that most people treated with a single high dose of psilocybin, the active ingredient in psychoactive mushrooms, showed a long-lasting change in personality—namely, an increase in openness. " and "Drug in Magic Mushrooms Linked to Long-Lasting Personality Change…for the Better". What makes anyone think that an increase in "openness" is a GOOD thing? I'd rather that people were a little less "open" and a lot more private please.

I'm not even bothered to read the entire article: the benefits stem from the willingness to maintain an open mind. People always benefit from that, no matter what kind of drugs they do.

Sadly we see far too much much drug-users without formentioned capability.

I was born, raised and still live in Amsterdam (and "do" drugs for over 40 yrs.), and I have to say that what initially was intended, has failed, too many narrowminded nitwits have spoilt it. Our own gouvernment seeks to restrict severely on dutch liberal policies on (soft)drugs.

They no longer distinguish.

Thankful for what those later generations did!

"BadTrips" these things do happen, but are not as bad as they are made to seem. 2 grams is the dosage you should take to have a nice, calm, colorful, beautiful, eyeopening experience. Thats about half an eighth ;) If you want it to be more intense, take more. I wouldn't recommend this if you are around to many people, for it tends to be a bit ruff :P but it is interesting, if you meditate, or have some way of easing your anxiety and calming down so that you can feel the Universe. All I can say is that Love is all that matters, and it is and we are everywhere :) Mushrooms are not bad, or dangerous at all, not even if you take to much. They will only be very intense but will where off. If you have never done them, or are inexperienced, I would only eat 2g(dried) you will have a very good time.
However, If healing the Human Psyche is what the goal is, then we should really look into DMT, or Ayahuasca.
Enjoy ;)

Well, if you want bonding, I could suggest the sap of any resinous tree...
Careful, however, not to get it on your clothes... it will bond your clothes to you too...

On a more serious note... what other effects does the fungus have? (What about BAD trips, etc?)

.Curious question – “During all tests, patients sat in a comfortable room, given eye-shades and told to focus their thoughts inward. They were accompanied by trained staff to help counsel them or provide support if the patient became anxious, upset, etc.”
Sounds like a bad trip waiting to happen.

I have been searching for a study like this ever since I had taken mushrooms in the Florida Keys during March of this year. The results shown in this study are SPOT ON what I have experienced. I will go as far to say that ingesting psilocybin mushrooms was the most important moment of my post-childhood life. My life post-trip has been nothing but better, in countless ways. Furthermore, my experience was not all "good trip". I have not taken mushrooms since, but plan on experiencing them again soon in northern Michigan.

Is there any evidence to suggest that this experience in itself without the chemical help wouldn't have a similar impact?

One of the benefits of magic mushrooms that researchers have missed so far is that when taken together in small groups it facilitates bonding.
