The letter from the unnamed colleague, while it’s not complimentary, is neither “bitter” nor “paranoid.” Simply, it lacks evidence, examples…which are necessary not only for the letter writer’s credence, but for that of the author of the article in which it appears.

Had the same letter been penned by a German Jew (or even J. Edgar Hoover), about Hitler, in the period before WWII, we’d consider it an understatement, even an act of generosity–anything but “bitter” and “paranoid.”

It’s still the case that a man is innocent until he’s proven guilty.

Very interesting. But it’s crazy to see how the truth can be distorted however they want it to. Governments still do this though. Over here, during the nineties secret services kept track of us musicians within the metal genre “just in case of”. Mainly because of the fact that these were people that didn’t conform to the “mainstream” and lots of them were more of the “thinking kind”. And we’re not talking about Eastern Europe where people might suspect it but somewhere in Northwestern Europe
