Well, despite the wonderful and very appreciated effort of all you BABloggers, I did not win a bloggie this year. Oh well. I knew it was a long shot, especially given the category: Best Topical Blog. That’s a bit overbroad. I actually have a half-written ranting blog entry about how no blog awards have a science category. It’s weird, given how some of the best blogs I’ve read are science blogs. ‘course, I may be biased.
So maybe next year, and maybe they’ll have a category for reality. As for this year… at least Cute Overload didn’t win. That’s an ignominy I could not have stood.

Your site is definitely one of my favorites, mostly for the astronomy stuff but lately a lot for the rants & info on the politicization of science. Thanks.

Velid, I’m sorry, but Science (with a capital ‘S’) won’t continue in the same way we’re accustomed to in this country (USA) without people like the BA defending us. It’s not the scientists who politicized science, but now it’s happening, we have to fight back.

Christian–Believe me, I couldn’t agree more. It is just a shame it has come down to this. Having scientists stand up in public for Science, and for a reality based view of the world for that matter, has never been more critical. BA has definitely been playing a important role in this fight.

I like your Blog site.

Well, it is the same thing with Koufaxes. On the very first day I nominated something like two dozen science blogs in various categories (mostly “Best Expert blog” and “Single Issue blog”). I don’t know if any one of them will win, but at least they got a lot of exposure.

At least you didn’t lose to CRASH (Creationists Recyling Absurd Scientific Hoaxes). Next time get Heath Ledger as a guest blogger….

Here’s a wacky notion: why not create a BA Blog Award for best astronomy blog? It’s apparently an unfilled niche.
