I am an astronomer, writer, and skeptic. I likes reality the way it is, and I aims to keep it that way. My real name is Phil Plait, and I run the Bad Astronomy blog.

Here's a wacky notion: why not create a BA Blog Award for best astronomy blog? It's apparently an unfilled niche.

Well, it is the same thing with Koufaxes. On the very first day I nominated something like two dozen science blogs in various categories (mostly "Best Expert blog" and "Single Issue blog"). I don't know if any one of them will win, but at least they got a lot of exposure.

Christian--Believe me, I couldn't agree more. It is just a shame it has come down to this. Having scientists stand up in public for Science, and for a reality based view of the world for that matter, has never been more critical. BA has definitely been playing a important role in this fight.

Velid, I'm sorry, but Science (with a capital 'S') won't continue in the same way we're accustomed to in this country (USA) without people like the BA defending us. It's not the scientists who politicized science, but now it's happening, we have to fight back.

Your site is definitely one of my favorites, mostly for the astronomy stuff but lately a lot for the rants & info on the politicization of science. Thanks.
