Randi on the mend!

‘

James Randi is on the mend! Before I left for my meeting the other day I heard from him… no, not literally, but we were IMing (what a life, to IM Randi!) and he told me he was out of rehab and back home. He’s not working, he’s resting, because Priority 1 is to regain his strength, but this is fantastic news. He’ll soon be back to crushing antiscientists and being his old lovable grumpy self.

But why trust me? Hear it from The Man Himself!’

Great, I miss his Friday “blog” and the world of antiscience is not taking a break.

Not that his Friday guest “speakers” haven’t been any good….. [looking down, shuffling feet]. ;-)

It’s lovely to hear his voice. He’s a great communicator- which is partly why he’s so valued.

Splendid. I can’t wait for TAM5 and the chance to meet the grumpy old bear again. He’s one of the funniest (present company excepted) people I’ve met.

    Yay! Noises of joy!

By the bye, does anyone have thoughts on the Pentagon considering space-based weapons?

I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say Congratulations on your difficult road to Recovery. Hopefully, some of our thoughts aided you in your strength through this difficult ordeal. And you know, whatever doesn’t kill us, will only give us more ammo to fight those anti-science bastards.

“does anyone have thoughts on the Pentagon considering space-based weapons? ”

Yeah, where do I send my resume. :)

That’s assuming I don’t hear back from the stealth shark people, which is currently the Coolest Job On The Planet.

Yay Randi! I guess all those prayers for your recovery paid off. Oh, wait…

I’m glad he is getting better. Grumpy he may be, but we need such fiesty codgers to put the WOO WOO sharlatins in their place.

I went to a lecture the other night where Sir Roger Penrose was talking about the Big Bang and his theory about what he thinks happened before the Big Bang. (don’t ask me to explain what he said, I am not a physisist. I am a bad speller/) The person introducing him said that Sir Penrose wanted to make it clear that he wasn’t an IDer. The thunderous applause was hear warming.

Yes, the talk was fasinating. I bought his book and got it autographed. I plan to read it and if I understand 1/10th of it I’ll be lucky.

Really good to hear his voice. Here’s to a speedy and full recovery!! I’ll look forward to seeing Randi in all his grumpy spendor at TAM5.

Good to hear his voice too, is it just me or does he sound even younger now? :) I used to like the webcasts they did.

It is things like this that shows how psychics, witches and other woo-woos with “special powers” are full of it. If any of them had special powers Randi would have died of a mysterious ailment decades ago. I hope he lives to 100! He can dedicate a book to all of the medical woo-woos that he outlived. :)
