It’s not working so far. It wouldn’t be fair for me to send him an IM and tell him, though. Let’s see how long it takes.

To be fair, the entry linked above took about two weeks for him to answer.

    Magillah?

    That’s Purim dude!

    Right now it’s Sukkot.

The film “Ushpizin” would be a better topic…

Actually, Megillah just refers to elements of the Five Scrolls of the Ketuvim, of which Ester is only one. Interestingly, two others are the Song of Songs and Ecclesiastes. Ah, the wonderful things I can be reminded of by Wikipedia.

    Ivan.

PS, How come I have 2 (two) “Submit Comment” buttons? Will it result in a double post?

    Ivan.

PPs, a thought…If he has a “re-assigned gender operation”, will she be refered to by her new name:- Chrissy Pirillo?

Careful there, BA. He might declare that Bad Astronomy is “nothing but a crapfarm.”

We’re still waiting for that apology, Chris.

Funny, I just figured it was a play on the cartoon character “Magillah Gorilla” :)

    • About Bad Astronomy

Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy, is an astronomer, lecturer, and author. After ten years working on Hubble Space Telescope and six more working on astronomy education, he struck out on his own as a writer. He's written two books, dozens of magazine articles, and 12 bazillion blog articles. He is a skeptic and fights the abuse of science, but his true love is praising the wonders of real science.

"If things worked the way I wanted them to, any reporter about to do another 'sensational' story on deadly meteors would consult this volume, and bang! common sense would find its way into the news. How strange would that world be?"

"Reading this book is like getting punched in the face by Carl Sagan. Frightening, but oddly exhilarating."
