This is why YouTube was invented.
It’s a series of short animations showing people-like figurines being mauled by what look like experiments set up in some sort of do-it-yourself physics software. Evidently it was originally posted on the Something Awful forum. I’ll have to sign up for that someday.
I laughed out loud a lot. Warning: some bad language (written)… and there are ninjas.
Oh– Best. Music. Ever. If anyone knows what it is, let me know! You guys really came through last time I asked. It’s like Run Lola Run meets The Matrix.
Tip o’ the second class lever to Seed’s (awesome) Daily Zeitgeist.
P.S. The new Tangled Bank science carnival and the new Skeptics Circle are up!

Wasn’t that song in the third Matrix movie?

The Song is “Navras” from “The Matrix Revolutions” soundtrack.

Can i get it somewhere on the net?

I dunno, Phil, we’re really on different pages on this one. This bring new meaning to the term “cartoon violence.” I didn’t laugh once, and, in fact, got bored enough halfway through that I fast forwarded to the end to see just how this thing would resolve. (It didn’t. It just ended.)
As for the music, ever since Jerry Goldsmith did “The Omen” thirty years ago, it seems that all dramatic violence music has to be is a large chorus chanting in a Latin-sounding language (even if it’s made up) in a minor key. Of course, never having seen any of the Matrix movies (they fail my guns/explosions/car-chase test) I’m hearing it out of context.
Then again, maybe I’m just grumpy because I have a cold coming on just in time for T’day tomorrow.

I’m right along side you with this one, Phil. Little moist spot in the front of the jeans, it was so funny. Would give a testicle for this software. Well… not my testicle.

Ah, a man after my head, you would appreciate a game of Porrasturvat

Yeah, that’s the ending theme to the third Matrix movie, I think. It’s in Sanskrit, with a really bad accent.

I’ve always connected it to Carl Orffs Carmina Burana ,quite possibly the most sampled classical work ever.

Murdering line drawings and figures – sick. I prefer the Three Stooges and Laurel & Hardy for funny ha ha violence. Possibly because the short animations imply the finality of death, which isn’t funny to me due to associations with reality. The Stooges get into incredible trouble but Curly remains impervious.
But that’s OK – to each their own. – I laughed hard at the insane stupidity in Borat though other folks are totally offended by it.

If Buster (the crash test dummy on MythBusters) could dream, this would be his nightmare.
Great stuff.

Zoot Says: “I’ve always connected it to Carl Orffs Carmina Burana ,quite possibly the most sampled classical work ever.”
Absolutely right. I didn’t know how many people would get the reference, though (I should have known better with this crowd) so I used the “Omen” reference. CB is a whole cantata, though, and all of this movie music seems to derive from just “O Fortuna”!

PS – Boorman’s “Excalibur” went straight to the source

Oh yeah; this has been on Google Video for several months. The software is “Pintar VirtuaLab Mechanics”.
Speaking of physics on Google Video, this may be an edifying experience:

I have an account to the forums. I saw this video a few weeks ago, and thought it was freakin’ hilarious. I’ve tried to find the software myself, but have been unsuccessful (the forums are pretty big and the search function sucks).

That’s right.
Correct. It’s one of the more popular extracts from the Upanishad. http://archives.amritapuri.org/bharat/mantra/asatoma.php
Most certainly.

This looks a bit like the Soda Constructor at http://www.sodaplay.com...

The software looks like Interactive Physics to my bloodshot eyes. But IP is this really weird program–they make you pay in order to use it. When did people start doin’ that?

I cracked up. My wife, looking over my shoulder, thought it was dumb. Takes all kinds.
November 23rd, 2006 at 8:40 am
Amusing, but I would prefer “Itchy and Scratchy” with a similar soundtrack.

You can download the software here: http://www.pintarmedia.com/pdload/
Just click on “Mech,” enter the required fields, and it’ll download.

When it comes ot animated violence you really cannot beat the stick figure flash animations created years ago. In case you have not seen them: http://www.martialartssupplies.com/stickfight.html

If you like animated violence nothing beats the stick figure flash anims that xiaoxiao made years ago. http://www.xiaoxiaomovie.com/index02.htm

The Marx Brothers are much better than the Three Stooges

Well that’s funny, my SA forums username is at the end of this and I can’t even remember what I contributed to it.
