One of my favorite things to do is give invited lectures. I’ve talked about Bad Astronomy (like the Moon Hoax, Planet X, silly movie science, and the face on Mars) all over this country (and Australia, too), and it’s big fun every time.
But I guess my next one can’t be too big. The scenery is great, and I’m sure the company is lovely, but the venue is a tad bit teenier than I’m used to.
If you can’t read the billboard, here’s the closeup:
I appreciate the invite, Janie, but I think I’ll have to pass. I prefer gingerbread museums, anyway.

But there’s a comet viewing TONIGHT! Lots of lilliputians will be there.
You can’t squeeze one more talk into your schedule?

It takes a big man to address a tiny audience.

Hi Dr. BA!
I just showed this to KaylaFace (who’s visiting). She’s the one who invited you (it’s her village and observatory), so I’ll just let her speak for herself.
Kisses though, and thanks for the mention!
(My neice is famous. That’s too cool.)

Dear Dr. BA,
I am the niece of JanieBell and I’d like to clarify a few things.
1. My aunt didn’t invite you; I did. I’m the current owner of the observatory and I thought my agent took care of the invite for me. I was told you had agreed to come, hence the wonderful sign. I’ll get on her as soon as she gets back with my coffee.
2. Who likes gingerbread? EW! =D
3. I’m sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you will come visit one day anyway. From what I hear, you’re a pretty awesome dude. =D
Love always,
Kaylaface.

[...] [UPDATE: Apparently there was a mix up, and Dr. BA won’t be able to come.Â

Would this place be more like it?

That was both cute and creative! I love it!

Sorry for the late post, but upon closer examination of the telescope in the observatory, I hope it a Retractor!
