They are a royal pain for those of us with dial-up. And no, I do not even have the option. 1) I am so far from the nearest telco substation, that my 56k modem maxes out at 28.8k (usually 26.4k). 2) Time-Warner has been promising to get out here "any time now" for the last 6 years.
