I have a vague memory of an old ‘Voyager’ photo taken behind the planet and from above or below that was somewhat similar. Think it was used in an old “National Geographic” (?) poster which had the solar system on the other side from back in the late 70′s ~ mid 80′s?

After hours of hard work (this is my first ever attempt at producing a colour mosaic of this size), here is Saturn in all its glory!

Thanks for posting your Saturn Image Remix Ian. I am glad that you put the (C)right on the lower right corner of the Jpeg. I shall respect your work. Of course NASA will post public domain soon. You beat them to the punch. Hey, lets get the tent packed for the lunar surface.

There are still a few tweaks to be made, and I’ll be posting a final version at the weekend.

One advantage is that it appears it will need less trimming to become my wallpaper compared to the other Saturn images. Though it was well worth the minimal work involved as most of my friends who have seen my desktop have snaffled a copy for their desktops.
