After all, if they are right, you've already gotten a head start in trying to combat the problem, and even if they're wrong, you cannot possibly claim that reducing your polluting in the mean time will have a harmful effect? Better safe than sorry. Even if you’re skeptic enough to research so much material that you could be immediately hired as a climate scientist yourself, surely during the time spent doing this you could limit your potential contribution to global warming and other climate change in case they’re right.
