Introducing: AstronomyBuzz! »

APOD book and DVD: we have our winners!

I am pleased to announce that we have our winners of the APOD book and Ambient Space DVD giveaway! The random numbers chosen were 124 and 102 (excluding my own first post on the bulletin board thread), and so the winners are badactor and sderic, respectively.

The book and DVD have been mailed out, so you two should receive your prize shortly.

As for everyone else, don’t despair: I have lots of other stuff (Mrs. BA wants to get rid of things before we move) so I’ll have more contests soon. Probably next week, so Stay Tuned!

Oh- Bob Nemiroff, one of the authors of the APOD book, told me it is available at Amazon for $8.99, so for those of you who didn’t win, you can still get it relatively cheaply (full disclosure– if you buy it through that link, I make a small amount of money).

“Mrs. BA wants to get rid of things before we move…”

    HA! I knew it!

Giveaways, no doubt, followed by the first Bad Astronomy Garage Sale (acronym left as an exercise for the reader).

Hey that mean your telescope is going to be a give away? :-)

The telescope would be nice, as I’m assuming you have one…I mean, what kind of Bad Astronomer are you without a telescope? I just wish I’d caught on what the giveaway was earlier…

I wished the BAGS would pay for international shipping…

Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy, is an astronomer, lecturer, and author. After ten years working on Hubble Space Telescope and six more working on astronomy education, he struck out on his own as a writer. He's written two books, dozens of magazine articles, and 12 bazillion blog articles. He is a skeptic and fights the abuse of science, but his true love is praising the wonders of real science.
