Basically we have two types of space travelers the mega-rich and the mega-smart (and dedicated). If the lottery was for a small number of seats from a more or less qualified pool it might be OK but for just one seat? Really I don't think Homer Simpson deserves to go into space. If you want to go pay your dues one way or another; but a lottery for the dumb and the poor for one lousy seat? Realistically we all get vicarious space flight in the images and testimonials sent back. Watching Buzz punch out Sibrel is so fantastic (the ferocious look on his face is amazing).
