Rebecca: budding radio star?

Rebecca — the woman who had the nerve to put a naked (?) picture of me in a calendar — is trying to become The Next Public Radio Star. A contest is being held in which people can submit a two minute demo, and the winner will get their own radio show!

Rebecca’s entry is here. To vote, you need to register, which is free and fairly painless. Rebecca is many things, but is she hosty? We’ll find out when we hear the vox populi.

Oh, yeah! She’s hosty alright! My ears are drooling.

Um, okay, that sounds disgusting, but she really is good.

This 92-year-old from Beverly Hills sure thinks she’s hosty! Or at least, that’s what I told the registration page.

Sounds OK and on radio you will not notice the white beard.

I don’t know if this is particularly pertinant, but here’s a link to an article about the emergence of resistance to science in early childhood. Seems that resistance to counter intuitive ideas begins really early, as the child tries to come to grips with the material world and authority figures.

Maybe it can prove useful to Rebecca.

5 stars, Rebecca! But you better not give up your place on SGU!

Thanks for posting this, Phil. I had heard about her bid for this on SGU podcast and hoped you would mention it on your blog.

Hope the moving is going well!

She’s cute enough for television. But then again I have a nerd fetish.
She’s pretty good needs a bit more authority possibly.
I wonder what’s on the camera that they are laughing about?

Wait a second… this poor gal Rebecca is going to be sent far out in space to radiate in the RF band? I mean, immortality is nice and all, but it seems a high price to pay.

Thanks Phil, and everybody who is voting and leaving awesome comments! I promise that if I win, one of my very first shows will be (hopelessly) devoted to (bad) astronomy. :D
