In case you weren’t sure that U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez was a pandering lackey, you might want to read this article in the Seattle Times where they say he is giving a talk sponsored by the evil liars at The Discovery Institute, the group that promotes the religion of Intelligent Design. Gonzalez won’t be speaking on religious or scientific matters (he’ll discussing "efforts to protect intellectual property and combat cybercrime", which I find richly ironic given both his history and that of the DI). Still, the DI is a slimy group of liars, and having them sponsor this talk doesn’t move Gonzalez up in my book at all. I’d even say it moves him down a notch, but he’s already so low he could walk under snake’s belly without having to duck.

Without ducking? He could wear a top hat!

Ah, contempt for the forces arrayed against both good science and good governance rolled into one…
Love it!

I’d laugh but the recent Supreme Court rulings make me realize just how despicable, un-American, dangerous, and downright evil this administration really is. And now Dick Cheney claims his office is not even part of the Executive Branch.
And still Republicans across the country make excuses.

Sadly, Dubya’s damage will be felt long after he leaves office. The current Supreme Regime is seeing to that.
As for Gonzalez, I’d dare to say he could walk on stilts under a snakes belly… Somebody wake me when it’s all over..

A pithy quote made here in Australia many years ago by the then Prime Minister’s wife who described someone she had little respect for as:
“He is lower than a snake’s duodenum”. I’ve never forgotten it.

FWIW, ’slang’ is Dutch for ’snake’, and I guarantee you he wouldn’t make it
Saw the guy in a tv show talking about impact debris making it from the moon to earth and vice versa, and he seemed (to me) pretty coherent on that subject, have to give him that.

Ack… I was confused with Guillermo Gonzalez, a completely different person, but the same sentiments apply.

Dear BA
Is such an overtly harsh language necessary? If they are liars (and my feeling is that some at the DI _are_ ideologically prone to twist the facts), what is the point of writing exaggeratedly inflamatory remarks about them?

So a politician is pandering to a group he sees as a useful ally? Whew.
Be sure to report that the sky is blue next (not your great discussion about WHY it’s blue, simply the fact that it is blue), followed by an exclusive on the Pope being Catholic.
