Rebecca won!

Hey, cool: Rebecca won one of the three slots on the Public Radio Talent Quest!

Obviously, this was due to the BABloggees voting for her. She owes me now.

    Congratualtions Rebecca!
I thought one of the others was good, but yours was by far the most important subject.

Rebecca’s fellow IDDG (Intelligent, Drop-Dead Gorgeous) women everywhere should be proud.

All of the IFA/OU (Intelligent, Fat and/or Ugly) women out there must bow down!

    On the radio… wah-oh-oh-oh!
Congrats and remember to make every word count, as all of them escape the atmosphere and, well… you know.

Good Job!! I look forward to hearing you on NPR as well as The Skeptics Guide.

Will, just out of curiosity, what do you mean by that comment?

And by “just out of curiosity” I mean “explain it very carefully to me because I am trying to see how that can possibly not be construed as being offensive and insensitive.”

Yeah… but overseas votes used on a USA-only competition? And on Skeptics’ Guide forum, someone said somethin about multiple accounts and scripts to increase the number of votes. The chance to make a radio show, not a guarantee is given so it better be better than a start like that. Abusing a system to win doesn’t make it a win. The money should buy a lot of drinks though, which we all know is a big importance!

Actually I think I did vote for her. Glad it panned out.

Go Rebecca! She deserves the win.

Maybe Will was commenting on the irrelevance of what she looks like, and that those commenting on her looks, even in a positive manner, are themselves being a bit sexist?

Just postulating here. If anyone needs me, I”ll be at the bar.

That was my interpretation also. It could do with some kind of flashing light and sign saying “note: sarcasm” though.

    Yeah! When is the party?

This is the very first time that anyone I have ever voted for has actually won!
