Turtle Bay Talk

I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but for some reason it escaped me: I am in Redding California (not all that far from where I used to live, in fact!) to give my Moon Hoax talk at Turtle Bay Exploration Park. Weather and mechanical problems meant I didn’t arrive until well after midnight, and I’m writing this right before I’m hitting the hay (I left home before 11 a.m. local time, so I’ve been on a plane, in a car, or cooling my heels at various airports for over 14 hours). I’m looking forward to this because it looks like a cool place… plus I’ll be talking to some kids first, and have time to see an exhibit called "Are We Alone?" which is on display here.

So if you’re in the area, drop on by! My talk is at 7:00 p.m.

Boy THAT sure does suck , I had no idea you were coming and I’m in Chico , a scant 45 minutes away. If I had known in Advance I could’ve gotten off of work to see it.
Seriously why did I have to find out now? :^(

Darn, I’m a little further out than OneHotJupiter (Sacramento) but I could’ve made it had I known earlier!

    Dear Dr BA,

I would normally have said “I have no idea how you could spend 14 hours going from colorado to california.” ( and maybe you didn’t start in Colorado ).

But, I spent all of Tuesday and wednesday getting from Ft.McMurray to Edmonton and back again and between hotels, airlines, cabs, and bad weather I can only share a commiserate AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!

On another note, your visits do seem to be poorly advertised. For instance I did not find out you were coming to Ft.Mac until you were already here. And even if i have to drop ten grand on a cruise cabin I will hold you to your promise to return here next year.

Yes I also didn’t know you would be in Ft. McMurray till kind of last minute. I would have gone if I had known sooner. Its a bit of a drive from Edmonton though and I was having trouble finding a hotel. Please go next year.

My husband and I will be there! But I hope you know Turtlebay is only selling the tickets, your lecture is not at the same location, I would hate to see you standing alone in the rain on the Sundial Bridge :)

Sabrina, it was my pleasure. I wish we could have chatted longer!

Sorry to everyone for not saying anything earlier. It basically just slipped my mind. I’ll try to give more warning in the future.
