Two Space Calendars!

Hey, if you liked my Top Ten Astronomy Pictures of 2007, you’ll love the Planetary Society’s Year in Pictures calendar. I see several pictures on it I wanted to use for my list, but couldn’t or didn’t for various reasons. But it looks very, very pretty.

Fraser at Universe Today is also offering a Year in Space calendar; a 144 page weekly calendar with all kinds of info about astronomy and space.

Why choose? Just buy both!

I have a similar calendar, but it’s for Advent. Want it?

They both sound neat, but I have to hold out for my annual crochet calender.

Good buy. If I can dredge up the money I will purchase both.

    Hi Phil,
Not sure if you’re into these things, but I got tagged with the “seven random and/or weird things about you” meme and I thought I’d pass it along to you. People are curious about ‘cha, so dish the dirt, my friend.

The Planetary Society calendar looks nice but has no moon phases or good astronomy info. I was very disappointed to find that my favorite astronomy calendar, Sky & Telescope’s Celestial Wonders, has been discontinued.

Astronomy Magazine’s Deep Space Mysteries calendar is not as good. It does have a nice intro on telescopes for beginners – but doesn’t have as much information (no star maps) and the calendar & fonts are too small.

Don’t forget the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada‘s Observer’s Calendar — always a great resource with excellent sky photos from RASC members, moon phases, etc.

Both excellent, but I feel Comet McNaught should have been represented.

True the RASC’s calendar is good, but there was something about it that wasn’t quite as good as Sky & Telescope’s, but I can’t put my finger on it at the moment…

…has no moon phases or good astronomy info.

Could be worse. I have a calendar (not space themed, but movie-themed) that does have phases of the moon — but they’re shifted. According the the calendar, the moon was full last Sunday, which doesn’t quite jibe with the crescent I saw when I looked at the sky earlier this week…
