The list of places my book has been increases daily!
But I’ve noticed that a lot of the places are tangential at best to astronomy. That’s fine, of course, and it’s great to see it anywhere. But it does make a certain sense that it should be seen in a cosmic setting, don’t you think?
So in comes engineer and amateur astronomer Andrew Cooper. And what does he send me? Awesomeness.

Holy Haleakala!
Hey, wait a second. I use that phrase all the time, but this is the closest it’s ever been to being accurate! That picture shows my book sitting in front of one of the two monster 10-meter Keck telescopes in Hawaii.
Whoooooooaaaaaaa.
It’ll take some doing to top that. So where has your copy been?
So, do you own a copy of the book? Take a picture of yourself holding it in some fun location, send it to me, and I’ll post it here!

What would be even better is for it to be not only at Keck, but also at Kek.

You know, if you ask me, the best part of that picture is that fact that, there, in front of one of the most advanced telescopes in the world, is what appears to be an old wooden podium pulled straight from a 19th century school house…

Here is a picture with the two Keck telescopes in the center. At the upper left you can look down on the 10,000 foot summit of Haleakala on Maui some 80 miles away.

Brett says: “You know, if you ask me, the best part of that picture is that fact that, there, in front of one of the most advanced telescopes in the world, is what appears to be an old wooden podium pulled straight from a 19th century school house…”
Technically, it’s a lectern, not a podium (the former is something that holds your notes when lecturing, the latter is a box that you stand on to get higher than your audience, like an orchestra conductor).
In any case, it looks more like a music stand to me, and home made from a piece of 1/2″ plywood nailed to a 4 x 4 (for our friends in Europe and other rational countries, that would be a piece of 1 cm plywood nailed to a 10 x 10).

Brett, the podium is not in the picture at all. That is a lectern.

Where’s the eyepiece thingy? (hehehehe)

Actually, if you’re want your message to rid the world of myths and pseudo-science, your book should be in other places not related to astronomy, and those are the ones that would be interesting.
But this picture does have a Coolness Factor of ~ 1.97e11.

“you’re”?? How did that get in there? I meant to say “if you want…”, of course.

Now that sure is a big, shiny mirror.

Where are the stars? This picture is clearly a hoax…

I thought that was a jet engine at first.
