I am supporting PZ in the “most controversial” contest.
and BA in the “science contest”. this is in accordance with my belliefs.

Which is sad: when publishing a blog, everybody has the same amount of potential readers. It’s only the quality of the writings that will help the winner.

Said that, it’s even sadder that the old gadgets blogs (which are a review of a review of a review) keep turning up in this contests.

Agreed, plus they have it rather easier because of the massive amount of widely distributed marketing materials/press releases/’insider leaks’ they more easily and constantly have to sift thru and refresh.

It’s rather unfair to lump both together, IMO.

For example, just look at just a couple of examples for science – sciencedaily.com & physorg.com. Even with the amount of updates sciencedaily.com keeps up with in articles, journal additions, and press releases, they don’t touch other, important, individual science-related updates that places like the scienceblogs compendium site (as well as your site) add to science-related info.

Seems to me sites like engadget.com and gizmodo.com have much easier resources to keep up with their commercial technology/gadget focus than a comprehensive science-only site would. (plus they have lots of companies more or less throwing money at them in terms of advertising space revenue -vs- what a science-only site could count on)
