Did you know? Facebook edition

Did you know that the James Randi Educational Foundation has a Facebook page? So does TAM 6.

I’m not completely sure what use the Facebook group pages are; Randi already has a discussion board, though I would guess some Facebook users who are fans of Randi may not know about his board.

And somehow, without my knowledge, I became an officer of the group! Calloo callay! Where are my epaulets?

I think the best thing about FaceBook groups is that it alerts your friends – they can see what groups you join; and of course you can specifically invite them to join too. It’s really about spreading awareness and networking, I think – getting all the like-minded people in one place.

Facebook is just the new fad after Myspace became overdone…

Missed a meeting, huh? In most organizations, the quickest way to get elected/appointed to a position is to be absent when the decision is made. This is a subtle way to encourage attendance.

When I read “…users who are fans of Randi may not know about his board.” I thought it said, “…users who are fans of Randi may not know about his beard.” I was just like “Who could not know about the mighty Randi Beard?!”

Hopefully, Facebook isn’t owned directly or otherwise by Fox/Murdoch and their ilk like MySpace is. There seemed to be a problem with the Atheist community…
