They mentioned the large hadron collider that is about to be turned on that will create a black hole that will drop to the centre of the earth and kill us all... ;-)
As a matter of interest if something like this did happen how long would we have and would we have any idea or indication that something is happening (death from below)?</description>

I can see this is going to end up as one of those myths that's kept alive by being debunked.  I'd never heard of it until I read your book, and no doubt in 20 or so years when senility sets in, I'll remember the myth but not that it's false.</description>
