Live video chat: Sun. May 11 at 3:00 MT

Note: THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED AN HOUR.

I’ll be doing another live video chat starting at 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time (21:00 UT) on Sunday May 11. If you look below and see/hear me jawing about astronomy or Doctor Who, then you’re good. I urge you to go to the UStream page, though, so you can participate in the chat room (or find/use an IRC client you like; the channel is chat1.ustream.tv and the room is #bad-astronomy). If you want to change your nickname there, type "/nick David Tennant" (or whatever) in the text field.

So, an hour sequestered for a video chat is your Mother’s Day gift to Mrs. BA?! Hmmmm…

I’ll be there too if my hubby and child find their inspiration earlier in the day. Of course, if David Tennant will be there, I’ll cancel everything else so I can concentrate on swooning full-time.

We’ll all ask questions as David Tennant if you answer them as Summer Glau

You touched on amateur spectroscopy last week. Something that I have wanted to persue for a long time. Hoping you can point me towards some books on the subject and what ?where? how much to pay of equipment etc. I will have my David Tennant action figure with me if that helps : )

Ow, my hungover brain hurts from trying to convert Mountain time to British Summer time. What time is this here, fellow Brits? 9 or 10?

It’s 10pm UK time. 11PM for me in the Netherlands…. grrrrr but worth the wait. It’s interesting to watch this guy interact with a bunch of people live and post your own questions online.

    m.o.

Can we get transcripts of these talks? Alas but my computer has no working sound … & I’m struggling to get the money to fix it. :-(
(I’d would rather read than listen anyhow – many ear infections & operations as a kid mean my hearing sucks.)

Did you see the huge list of questions I had for you on the last of these (think it twas anyhow?) which I suggested on the Blitzfeed comments thingummy?

& BTW : I asked this before & got no answer so I’m trying again in the hopefully not forlorn hope of an answer :

What do you think of Ed Weiler – good for NASA / Science or not? Good bloke or not?

    ————
Sorry if this is bad netiquette .. :-(

    Thanks Phil. Minor point:

the SERVER is chat1.ustream.tv and the CHANNEL is #bad-astronomy

(note the typo before “tv”). But mildly experienced irc users should have no problem using what was in your post.
