Live video chat at 15:00 Mountain time (21:00 UT)

I’ll be doing another live video chat starting at 15:00 Mountain Time (21:00 UT) on Sunday May 25. If you look below and see/hear me talking about Texas being doomed, then you’re good. I urge you to go to the UStream page, though, so you can participate in the chat room (or find/use an IRC client you like; the server is chat1.ustream.tv and the room is #bad-astronomy). If you want to change your nickname there, type "/nick Ray Bradbury" (or whatever) in the text field.

Fantastic Fauxnetiks! That’s always fun. Phil is most excellent at answering questions and explaining how stuff works.

I love watching him talk with his hands.

(The Phoenix Lander is safe on the ground, btw.)

Smiling faces and lots of applauding in mission control… Phoenix has landed on Mars! Several more minutes until solar panel deployment, and boom raising to take pictures… can’t wait :)

Correction: do NOT put a space between first and last, or you will become
Ray 4859 or somesuch….. /nick RayBradbury WILL work.

    /nick J/P=?

    (Hmmm haven’t tried that one….)

Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy, is an astronomer, lecturer, and author. After ten years working on Hubble Space Telescope and six more working on astronomy education, he struck out on his own as a writer. He's written two books, dozens of magazine articles, and 12 bazillion blog articles. He is a skeptic and fights the abuse of science, but his true love is praising the wonders of real science.
