Wow! Looking at that artist's conception, is our bar really thought to be that prominent? That'll be a nice picture to show future classes, as long as it's made abundantly clear that it's a conception based on a model based on observations from within the Milky Way. You'd be surprised how many people think we have pictures of the Milky Way from outside of it, at least before giving it a few seconds thought.

Here I link to the full story – the article was actually up 40 minutes before Benjamin gave his presentation because the embargo for the press releases was lifted at precisely noon CDT. Benjamin stressed that the pic was only preliminary work and would probably be updated fairly soon. But the general conclusion – two arms, not four – seems secure.
