I am heartened by her decision not to include Pluto in that necklace.

I've been saying that little backwater iceball wasn't a planet since back before it WAS a non-planet!

Just a tad off topic but watch this video from Penn and Teller showing people who are not at all skeptical:

http://lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/013117.html

They obviously were also asleep in their high school and/or college chemistry classes.

Madge: well, my mom made it for me, so it's sort of a one of a kind.

It's a little complicated though, since I also did lots of googling before I called in the big guns. I can be reached at a.real.girl (at) Skepchick.org. (replacing with the @, of course.)

If you'd like to e-mail, I'll tell you all about it.

I just tried Googling (I love a good Google) solar system necklaces and quite frankly they were ALL horrendous! Completely inaccurate and UGLY as can be. I am SO JEALOUS! Where oh where did you find that combo? PLEEZE :)

Thanks BA...you're very good to me!

And, Ken, Saturn isn't larger than Jupiter. The beads themselves are the same size (or pretty near it...) but the rings on Saturn make it look bigger.

Also, there are no *plutoids* on the necklace, after all. That would have been much harder to make.
