Yeah, kind of hard pressed for money at the moment, but Gantz vol 1 will be on my rack soon enough. I also have NOiSE, and I wish TokyoPop would pick up Nihei’s “Biomega” and “Net Sphere Engineer”. If you have the first 9 volumes of Battle Angel, you SO need the Last Order series. It picks up at about the half-point of volume 9 of the first series (where the baby doll goes BOOM) and continues from that point. Yukito was sick during that time period and rushed the ending. When he got better back in 2000 I think, he started on Last Order, continuing the story as he had intended.

Phil, here’s an anime that you would probably find very interesting: Noein
You can read about it *at wikipedia*.

You would probably enjoy Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and Neon Genesis Evangelion as well. All three are great classics and are usually considered benchmarks for other anime. Although quite long, you may enjoy the manga series “Berserk”. One of the titles that utakata mentioned, Eureka seveN, you may greatly enjoy. It also has a 50-episode anime series to go with it.

Though not anime, another great series to check out is, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Ah, man, I guess I will have to check out at least that episode of Mahalo Daily. I had basically stopped watching it (although I am still currently downloading it) because a) I have a backlog of other pod and vodcasts I need to catch up on and b) I’m not sure I really wanted to keep watching it since Veronica Belmont quit the show to go back to focusing on shows that are more tech oriented (hence the move to Tekzilla).

As to manga, I don’t read much manga, I was watching lots of anime then I started having issues with time, money and job. Now that the money and job issues are dealt with, I have to deal with the time issue.

Those are fulllength feature Anime, BA. Which is loosly put…usually the cartoon version of their Manga predecessor. I do believe Miyazaki has Manga versions of his movies. And he does have the Lupin series he did decades back.

My partial collection icludes:

Bleach, Battle Angel Alita (the first series), BLAME!(+ Noise), Deathnote, Claymore, Shadow Star (Naratura), Chobits, Gunslinger Girls, Cronus Crusades, PreTear (very shojo), + Anima, Gakuen Alice, Eureka 7, Venus vs Virus…

…and I could go on and on.

The first book of Gantz (English trans) has been published threw Darkhorse. And is like available at a well rounded local comic book store. I know it is in mine.

Phil, out of curiosity, which manga do you have and currently read?

Myself, I own Battle Angel Alita (and Last Order), Evangelion, Hellsing, Trigun (and Maximum), Blame!, Death Note, Yotsuba&!, Azumanga Daioh, and will soon begin getting Gantz.

Online, I keep up to date with One Piece, Bleach, Naruto and Gantz.
