Oh my yes… That’s very fake.

Actually none of the local species really resemble you hunams. Most aren’t even hunamoid. And those who are aren’t neccesarily hunam-sized. (And you certainly can’t confuse ‘em with hunams.)

That thing looks like a hunam who had an unfortunate accident.

That and none of the species in the galaxy cares about you hunams, that’s why they don’t make contact. Its kind of like how you wouldn’t be to thrilled with having cartoon cavepeople living next door. We don’t really want you around with spaceships and stuff. Kind of like how you wouldn’t give one of your larvae a loaded weapon with the safety off.

Kevin, yeah its always like those ancient history documentaries on Discovery. They make you believe at the beginning that they actually found something extremely cool, only to let you down at the end with their “well if it DID happen… this is how it went” endings. I keep watching them like a Pavlovian dog thinking that maybe THIS time I’ll get the treat I’m yearning for. I’m such a sucker.

Annette: You cannot think of those numbers in terms of some sort of headwind. Space is mostly that: Lots of – empty – space, so there’s really nothing pushing against “outsiders” with any kind of significant force (not considering ultra-light, ultra-wide solar sail structures here). You *will* need proper shielding though.
