If you’ve perused my Flickr photos, you’ve probably seen my set from Dragon*Con, including all the incredible costumes people made. My favorite was probably the woman who dressed as the Quantum Angel from the Doctor Who episode Blink:

Well, BABloggee Jacco van Schaik tipped me off that the woman who made the costume blogged about it, and the story is great! Go ahead and read it, but let me say, if you’re a scifi fan, you absolutely must read her post up to the very end… Yes sir, Cap’n Tight-pants, you really do.

Anthropomorphising geometrical objects, are we? Since when do angles have taste in anything? *wry grin*

“Who knew angles had such excellent taste in reading materials?”
I guess she has a sharp mind.

Damn. If I’d known it would get Jewel Staite to feel me up, I’d have made one of those.
Awesome costume, anyway.

Acute series of puns on misspelling ‘angel’ as ‘angle’.

While I liked the plotting of that episode, the whole “quantum locked” concept bothered me. There are enough misconceptions about the observer effect as it is.
Awesome costume, though.

Wow, what a stunning costume. Reading about how she did it was fascinating. I miss doing Cons…

Before I read a single word the picture had scared me deeply. That episode was creepy.

You better be careful the angel doesn’t send the book back in time so that some other enterprising young skeptic picks it up and publishes it in their name…

Do not be so obtuse.

That was really cool! Stunning costume. I wish I had skilz like that. The gloves she made were really clever, too. Loved that last part, too — how awesome is that!

No… freaking… way… That is so cool!!! An excellent costume for a really creepy creature!
Anyways, that episode was really creepy… one of the best episode in the series I have seen.

*grins* my wife, a lady friend, and I went as a trio of Weeping Angels to Swancon – we had people running off in fear just by standing there with our hands over our faces. I won’t mention the effect Jessica was having lurking by the door to the Masquerade room, or the fun I had stalking children in the hotel lobby
