Spacewriter writes about space

… in this case, death from it. Carolyn Collins Petersen is the aforementioned Space Writer, BABlog commenter, planetarium show creator, and also a friend. I’m sure that last bit in no way influenced her review of my book, which is stunningly accurate in its portrayal of my book being really good.

C2P, your check is in the mail.

Also, there is a review on The Melbury Gentlemen’s Club site. It’s a polite review, fitting for "a blog of manners". The previous post is a guide to cigars, which personally interests me as well. Hey, if the world’s gonna end, then a nice cigar is probably your best bet.

The first beer at AAS is on you, Phil. ;)

Why do I get a vision of Will Smith with a cigar, and some “ample bodied” operatic singers after reading this blog post?

Actually, I’d add in a nice big tumbler full of a good single malt Speyside scotch for the other hand as you watch the planet come to an end.

I, too, like the cigar thing (even though I can’t stand the smell of them — it’s the image, I guess) for some strange reason. and, actually isn’t it a good port that goes with cigars?

    ;)

Conventional wisdom would say Port & Cigars, but I am my own person. I’ll even drink red wine with seafood! If you enjoy something, who cares what the experts say! Although, if the experts say something, it would behoove you to at least try it their way to see what the deal is, but if you have your own tastes, then go for it. Although, you’ll need to be prepared to explain yourself from time to time! :)

    Best. headline. ever.

    That is all.

    PS
It looks like Phil’s book-pimping has now reached the corridors of the UN (or not)

Wait a minute, You’re an awesome writer, a scientist, a skeptologist, the president of the JREF, a Dr. Who fan, AND you like good cigars!?

OK, we need to hang out. I’ll supply the Ghurka Nepalese Warriors and Rocky Patel Vintage 1990′s if you bring the Guiness. (I hear Wil is into Guiness as well).

If you’re also into fly fishing then you may want to check to see if you have the other half of this amulet that I’ve had since birth.

To be honest, it’s been many years since I’ve smoked a cigar, and more since I’ve smoked a good one. In the Canary Islands I had one grown from Cuban tobacco seeds, and it was remarkable. But I have a very unsophisticated palate (same with wine… I know what I like).

There is no such thing as a good cigar.

So -YOU’VE- got my amulet! I wondered where that thing went…
