Two updates

Two quick updates:

1) SkyPhoto, the charity to raise money for a boy with leukemia, is now accepting PayPal. So you can now buy a very cool photo of the sky much more easily.

2) Hubble’s Hotties, a video I made displaying some of my favorite Hubble images, is now up on Hulu for you Amurcans. You ferrners can’t see it, but the video is available to most of the rest of the planet up on YouTube.

I don’t know what kind of file you uploaded to YouTube, but it will now accept 720p versions of videos… just add &fmt=22 after (&fmt=18 for slightly lower quality). It also results in better sound.

    @ Cat’s Staff,

I wish YouTube would delete all submitted videos that don’t meet a minimum standard in video/sound quality, and that the videos are reasonably enjoyable to the viewer and not just for those who made the bloody video — whose sole reason for uploading the video is ‘I have a camera and I’m pissed out of my mind’!

meh. Until you upload it to a *real* video sharing site, not low-quality youtube, or the American pandering hulu, I won’t be watching it. Way to screw over all non-Americans.

Us ‘ferrners’ can watch it on Hulu by using Hotspot Shield ” http://www.hotspotshield.com/

You’re too young to remember Lyndon Johnson starting an address “Mah Fellow Amurricans…”

Gopher65, if it’s any consolation, it’s much higher-quality than most of what you see on YouTube. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Shouldn’t that be Merkins? Or maybe that’s just how W says it, not sure about the Colorado pronunciation.

Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy, is an astronomer, lecturer, and author. After ten years working on Hubble Space Telescope and six more working on astronomy education, he struck out on his own as a writer. He's written two books, dozens of magazine articles, and 12 bazillion blog articles. He is a skeptic and fights the abuse of science, but his true love is praising the wonders of real science.
