Aussies love DEATH!

Richard and Tiffany.

I just heard the new episode of the Australian podcast Skeptic Zone with the charming and dashing Richard Saunders — this one has a wonderful interview with the totally awesome Pamela Gay, who talks up astronomy and the International Year of Astronomy 2009.

Right after that, at about 25 minutes in, first year University astronomy student and Aussie skeptic Tiffany Day reviews my book Death from the Skies! I won’t give away what she says, but I will mention that she is an unusually intelligent and perceptive person.

OT: Have you seen Obama’s newest weekly address? In it he talks about his commitment to science and evidence. He also names a few more of the members of his science team. The post with the video is here: http://tinyurl.com/8tgukp

    I am happy :)

Thanks! It’s a great ep, I think we’re all going from strength to strength. Hope people check out the site and suggest more things for us to get into for the show!

Apparently we do love your book, since I haven’t been able to find it in any stores around here.

    Alex,

I got mine, early, from Amazon.

I’ve got that “one click” purchase with the expedited delivery and I “pre-ordered” DFTS but it arrived in a couple of days.

I never used to like Amazon but I’ve changed my tune on that lately.

If it’s out of stock, they’ll fetch ya another.

    I’d advise against the “one-click” option though, it’s evil…and WAY too easy…

Buy your copy from JREF and help the Foundation at the same time. It’s always good to do three good things in one fell swoop: help Phil with book-sales, help JREF and help yourself to one fine book to read!

Pamela Gay has the smoothest, sexiest voice in podcasting. I’d could listen to her even if she were reading stacks of phone books. If you haven’t, listen to Astronomy Cast and see what I’m talking about.

Hmmm… and here was I thinking that I had the smooth voice!!

Wow, this is so exciting to be mentioned in BA! Go Skeptic Zone :) and I do suggest that everyone gets a copy of DFTS, it’s *such* a good read.

Have you all bought copies of “Death” for Xmas? I bought a bunch for Xmas presents for my friends and co-workers.

Hey, Skeptics at the Pub, I was at that meeting ^_^

Incidentally, Phil, I owe you a thank-you. I only stumbled across Australian Skeptics because you linked to them – I went to Skeptics at the Pub and had a ball! So thanks :)

I have always considered Australian women to be babes, and Tiffany does nothbing to dispell that notion, plus she has a brain.
