« The Big Picture’s Endeavour
Falcon 9 to be assembled at the Cape by year’s end! »

Dammit Jim, I’m the Doctor!

What happens when you take the two greatest things in the entire Universe and put them together?

This.

If you are a Trek and a Who fan, then watch the whole thing, until the very end of the teaser for Part II. It is without any fear of exaggeration or contradiction when I say that it is the best thing ever to have happened ever in the history of everness. Ever.

How can you not love this framegrab?

The TARDIS tractoring the Enterprise

Oh? What’s that? You prefer Space:1999? Behold!

Tip o’ the Sonic Tricorder to I Watch Stuff, and the original site Kelvington.com!

One of these days, I’m going to check out this Dr Who stuff that everyone seems so excited about.

It’s good to see that production values on BBC shows in 2008 have finally caught up to U.S. TV shows from the 60s :D

It would be best if they used the Star Trek time travel episodes:

    Tomorrow is Yesterday
City on the Edge of Forever
    Assignment Earth

I didn’t get the significance of your title until after watching the video. Now I wish it could have been an actual line.

FANTASTIC! as Doc. number 9 would say.
I still maintain however that this,

is the greatest thing ever to have happened ever in the history of everness. Ever. And then some.

    Phil,

Have you read “The Doctor and The Enterprise” http://www.amazon.com/Doctor-Enterprise-Jean-Airey/dp/1556982186 ?

I’ve been a Doctor Who fan since I was eight, but I’ve never been into Trek. My vote for best American TV series in the same genre goes to Stargate.

One thing that’s always bugged me is the way that an explosion or other violent event outside the TARDIS causes the inside of the TARDIS to shake violently. Being dimensionally transcendental ought to be an extremely effective dampener, if you think about the physics for two seconds. But as always, drama trumps logic.

How about going to slightly before Space 1999 to Gerry Anderson’s UFO?

I’d love to say that was the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while. But then I’d be lying. Interesting for the first 30 seconds yes. After that I it was just boring computer generated trickery. What is that saying people use… just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
