Skeptics’ Guide uncut

At The Amaz!ng Meeting 6, I sat with the crew of Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe and we had a fun hour chatting away. Eventually that made it to a podcast, edited way down. But I found out recently they offer the whole hour uncut at, well, SGU Uncut (scroll down to Episode 4). To help keep SGU operating, they charge a small amount for those uncut episodes, but it’s only three bucks.

I downloaded the episode and listened to it the other day, and I had to admit I laughed a lot; My Close Personal Friend™ Adam Savage dropped by — twice! — and we had a lot of fun. If you like puns, you’ll love this episode. And if you don’t like puns, um, well, there aren’t any. Yeah. So go show SGU some skeptical love.

We can say SGU here? I thought it was a non-swearing site… :-)

So, this Skeptic’s Guide — does it have the words, “Don’t Panic” reassuringly printed on the cover?

Did you talk about the UK hospital that just paid to have an Exorcist come in to banish a ghost? Oh boy, write up in the best paper ever – The Sun.

Homeopathy, vaccinations, etc all effecting health standards. And now apparently hospitals themselves are doing stuff like this?!

“Experts said the spirit could be the ghost of a Roman soldier killed on the spot where the original hospital was built in the 1920s.” If I get hurt and go to hospital the absolute last thing I would ever want to see is a guy sprinkling me with holy water and chanting.

You’re in half of the uncut episodes? Yeah, I guess you are that good.

Ordered – thanks for the heads-up!

Been meaning to order that since I heard about it on one of the SGU casts from a few weeks ago.

Has it been removed. I can’t find it, there are only 3 episodes there. Perhaps a government cover up?
