I agree with author of blog.

In that vaccines are good for the living current generation of humanity. (wealthy nations)

However prolonged/increased use of medicines/antibodies/vaccines will eventually lead to future generations through whatever/however the whole dna inheritance thing works becoming more suspectible to infections/bacteria which would not otherwise be so bad. Basically becoming dependent on external meds.

Much like how if you use steroids your body stops test production cause hey why go buy milk at walmart when your orny big fat nymph wife is lactating.

And why kids who get chickenpox at an early age are pretty much failsafe from it. We all need controlled EXPOSURE for immunity and vaccines are a gr8 way to do it. Being injected with sterile HIV is a much better way than dicking a crackho up the pooper. (well that is argueable!!!!)

i'm pro exposure but very left on the use/abuse of antibiotics constant germ-xing of the body, constant sterile food,etc.. Everyone needs regular exposure/immunity from within otherwise when it hits it will hit hard.

Squirrels are 100% immune from rattlesnake venom. Know how? Death. Lots and lots of it over a long time. Had they taken antivenoms daily they would still die from it unless they had that external source. Point being- exposure yourself. Vaccines for the nasties and maybe don't germx yourself 5 times a day and pop an antibiotic everytime you sneeze.

If everyone who thinks vaccines are safe & vaccines will protect them will just take the damn shot, then they shouldn't worry about those who don't want or believe in it possibly infecting others, since the non-believers would be the only ones left at risk. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this.

You know-it-alls always try to force your point of view on others, demonizing anyone who disagrees with your "enlightenment" as some kind of dangerous infidel, to the point of forcing them to accept a foreign substance into their bodies that they don't want for personal, health, or religious reasons.

Let each person make the decision for themselves and let's see who fares the best- The Naturalists, or the dupes of the Pharmacuetical Industrial Complex, the controlled mainstream media establishment, Darwin, Freud, Kinsley and John Maynard Keynes.

You people make me sick with your self-arrogance. All that excellent research, then you come to ignorant conclusions. Why don't you fools follow the money trail and the ruined lives left in the wake of this issue?

See the following theory:
The ‘theory of mind’ (ToM) hypothesis of autism. Tom is an hypothesis first published in 1985.
Other articles ask what caused the autism epidemic?
The CDC studies say it is not MMR or Thimerosal. Other hypotheses have included autoimmune diseases, etc.

Here is a good article on diagnosing this:

Also,
SIDS, Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Plagiocephaly, etc. are all
conditions that the medical profession is trying to treat.
The SIDS back sleep (Supine) sleep recommendations began in 1992
The SIDS "Back to Sleep" campaign began in 1994.
In 1996 the AAP SIDS Task Force, led by Dr. John Kattwinkel recommended the supine sleep position and not the side(lateral) or front(prone).
THe Netherlands began their SIDS Back to Sleep Campaign in 1987.
Sleep is necessary for memory consolidation, declarative learning, and procedural learning.

So many things to say, so little time.

@Phil Plait: Thank you very much for bringing this to everyone's attention!

@Todd W.: You have been the most cordial, informative, and reasonable responder in this entire, long, long-winded set of responses. Congratulations! Others here have also done their part and deserve congratulations as well.

@Anti-vaxers: In general, I don't know where I stand on this. Oh, vaccines are a necessity. Don't be fooled by the BigPharma(tm) conspiracy theorists jogging about here. Vaccine effectiveness is a fact, reality, exists, has stats, data, trials, live people (instead of dead people from pandemics and plagues), you name it. Those saying there is no such thing are imbeciles (and I offer that slur in the most derogatory manner humanly possible). I can only suppose that these type of people also believe that wearing glasses or contact lenses doesn't correct vision because, obviously, people who do so still can't see any better. As noted: Head.Desk.Bang.

Go here (this is a WHO/WHA/CDC/GPEI/UNICEF/RotaryIntl. supported site):
polioeradication.org/history.asp

As probably already linked:
who.int/topics/immunization/about/en/index.html
who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs288/en/index.html
who.int/immunization/documents/positionpapers/en/index.html

Now, whether trace amounts of a mercury derivative such as Thimerosal may have contributed to the suspected onset of autism is a small percentage of cases, I'm not 100% sold that it had no contribution but very close to sold. So far, no clinical (scientifically performed) studies have made the linkage between MMR w/Thimerosal and autism except for one retracted, flawed, suspected of vested interest study by Wakefield. That's extremely flimsy evidence even in a court of law (in which the link was also dismissed as unconvincing) on which to hang the LIFE of your children and the children with whom your children may have contact.

In other words, to avoid a very tenuous (and unsupported) possibility of your child acquiring autism from vaccinations, you would rather put your children, friends, relatives, and any other hapless human who encounters your unvaccinated children at risk of death or life-long debilitations. Wow, that is penultimately conceited, self-centered, unempathetic, hauty, ignorant, and foolish. What great examples to your children!

Finally, homeopathy is bull. The hypothesis has been shown to be false. The efficacy is 0 (zero) in a clinical sense. The amount of active ingredient in the emulsion is 0 (zero). After only several succusions, there is not 1 (!!!) molecule of the active ingredient left in the emulsion. Therefore, if you are going to talk about 'water memory' (woo woo), don't talk to me about stats, science, medicine, math, reality, facts, etc. You are now an outright loony.

Lyle aka Elron, you do not then need to fear vaccinations. There are no childhood vaccines with thimerosal (aka mercury) in them. Flu vaccines may contain thimerosal but there are thimerosal free versions. BTW don't live near coal-fired power plants or sources of vulcanism (including thermal springs). There are other sources for mercury in the environment so you'd better check on them as well. You might want to avoid using compact flourescent lights or flourescent tubes. Better stick to wood fires (using carefully selected wood) and candle-light (or incandescent globes if you can still find them).

I agree that vaccines do not cause autism, and I agree that mercury levels in vaccines that use Thimerosol are low. That said, giving ANY quantity of mercury to a child is a bad idea ... No one questions that mercury is highly toxic to eveyone, especially to children. At this point, I wouldn't feed my children canned tuna, or many other kinds of fish that contain such heavy metals, and I don't see why I should assume that vaccines containing mercury (or prepared using mercury) are safe for my children.

For me, the vaccination question was never about autism. Its ALWAYS been about the fact that mercury is toxic at ANY level, especially to children, and the safest amount of mercury in a child is zero. I think its foolish to reject all vaccinations, but I also think its pretty silly to downplay the toxicity of mercury at ANY level in products that are designed for children to ingest.

Lets be scientific about this ... mercury is toxic to children, and while we may set levels that have minimal risk, there is NO "safe" level of mercury in a child's diet. I will not willingly give my child anything to ingest that was prepared with, or contains mercury, and that includes vaccines. I believe in vaccinaing my children ... I don't believe in intentionally injecting mercury into them in conjunction with vaccines.

drksky,
Autism and Alzheimer’s are the same thing, caused by the same thing, an inability to rid oneself of metals

@John Best: Yep, got to agree with Grendel. You’ve now jumped the shark and no longer have any credibility.

Since I have cured autism by removing that mercury, I'd say you're the one with zero credibility.
